Wetroom manufacturer Impey has launched its Elevate half-height door which allows easy shower access for people with limited mobility.
Impey has redesigned and streamlined its half-height door following consultation with care professionals, including occupational therapists and technical officers.
Occupational therapist Madeleine Burton said: “Impey’s genuine desire to offer products that improve the showering experience for those with decreased mobility has resulted an outstanding new half-height door option – which offers superior functionality, huge versatility and outstanding features.”
The shower door features easy-open mechanisms with no pinch grip needed to open and close.
Contrasting colours have been used for the handles and openings for the benefit of partially sighted users as well as dementia or Alzheimers patients.
Madeleine added: “After consulting extensively on the design and functionality of the Elevate half-height door with the excellent research and development team at Impey, I am thrilled to see the new model go into production.
“I am particularly impressed with the safety features offered, the easy-lift opening mechanism and the colour-contrast handles, which will be instantly beneficial to many of the patients I work with.”
