Impey has launched a follow up to its Slimfold Shower Seat which it is designed to alleviate the potential issues which can arise through use of awkward, intrusive and potentially unhygienic padded shower seating.

Impey has decided to extend the range and introduce a new horseshoe-shaped version to add to its portfolio of healthcare showering solutions.

The Slimfold Horseshoe Seat utilises the technology offered by the original Impey Slimfold Shower Seat, incorporating a horseshoe-shaped seat, to allow users to address personal cleaning, where a standard seat shape can restrict access.

The design of the Slimfold Horseshoe Seat conceals a multitude of features which make this seat a practical solution for carers and end users. The Slimfold Horseshoe Seat has been designed and rigorously tested to withstand weights of up to 300kg (47 stone).

The seat is supplied pre-assembled and is very simple to install using the template supplied within the packaging and comprehensive fitting guide. With a minimum installation height of 415mm, the Slimfold Horseshoe Seat is the lowest seat available on the market; meaning it is easier for both users and carers, when moving in and out of the showering area, Impey claims.

The Slimfold Horseshoe Seat is manufactured from high-grade corrosion resistant stainless-steel, aluminium and low-density, semi-flexible polyethylene.

Group sales director, Liam Ryan, commented on the new launch: “The new Slimfold Horseshoe seat is a revelation in the healthcare showering solutions market. All other wall-mounted horseshoe seats that I am aware of, incorporate unhygienic and potentially uncomfortable padding. The unique functionality and adaptability of the Impey Slimfold Horseshoe Seat is going to make a marked difference to the showering experience of many individuals and their carers.”
