GET TO KNOW: Keith Marsden, General Assistant, People First Mobility


How long have you worked for your current employer and how did you get into the industry?

I have worked for People First Mobility for almost Nine years now. I was looking for a change in direction for my employment, a new career,  and when I saw  this job advertised I was very interested in moving into the mobility industry.

What’s the first thing you do when you get into work in the morning?

I plan the day of any jobs that need collecting or returning and then get the kettle on for a cuppa.

What’s your biggest achievement in the industry to date?

Working with the local hotels to ensure that the company builds relationships with them for our Hire Service to their guests.

What do you most enjoy about working in the industry?

Getting job satisfaction when you have sold the person the right equipment for their needs and made their life easier. I enjoy every day as each day is different and you can get a whole different variety of people through the door.

What’s the hardest part of your job?

The hardest part is trying to make my boss a cup of tea how she likes it ? She has it very weak, almost like milky water!!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I was given was that All problems have solutions.

Which other company (inside or outside the industry) do you most admire and why?

The company I most admire outside the industry is Tesla as they are a massively forward thinking company with new ideas and new innovations.

Tell us something about yourself that none of your colleagues know?

Working at People First for so long I do not think there is anything that my colleagues do not know. 

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you buy?

If I won a few million I would buy a mini little estate in the country somewhere, an idyllic place with fantastic views. I would also buy a home in Argyle Scotland where the scenery is amazing.  

If you could invite any four people (dead or alive) to a dinner party, who would they be?

Fred Dibnah, Mel Gibson, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Field Marshall Erwin Rammel.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Spending time with my wife, my dog and my family, or going for a walk around the local national trust properties.

What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?

My colleague made me laugh this morning.
