How long have you worked for your current employer and how did you get into the industry?
30 years. Stannah is a major local employer in my home town. I came as a temp and never left.
What’s the first thing you do when you get into work in the morning?
Open my emails whilst having a coffee!
What’s your biggest achievement in the industry to date?
Achieving my Level 5 Management Diploma and Chartered Manager status.
What do you most enjoy about working in the industry?
The friendships formed and the passion so many of our dealers have in providing solutions for the elderly and disabled.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
You can’t please all of the people all of the time. But I do try hard to please most of the people most of the time!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Holidays, taking my spaniel for walks and family time.
Which other company (inside or outside the industry) do you most admire and why?
Virgin. Its diversification, staff incentives and strong leadership.

Mo Farah and I ran in the same race.
