Gerald Simonds takes on updated carbon fibre Motion Composites wheelchair

Veloce2-Front 1

Industry distributor, Gerald Simonds, has introduced a re-designed version of Motion Composite’s Veloce folding wheelchair into its portfolio.

The most significant change to the latest model is the addition of a carbon fibre frame design, also found on the Apex Carbon wheelchair, which enables the Veloce to perform like a rigid wheelchair yet have the flexibility of a folding frame.

The design of the carbon fibre frame aims to provide high levels of durability, strength, fatigue resistance and temperature tolerance.

The new Veloce wheelchair has a transport weight of 5.43 kg and a maximum user weight of nearly 18 stone (114kg).

With width and depth dimensions of 14” (35.6cm) to 20” (50.8cm), the Veloce aims to be a lightweight wheelchair solution for users looking to maintain an active lifestyle.

The Veloce is highly adjustable as the user can easily adjust the front and rear seat to floor heights, seat bucket and centre of gravity, while the hinged one piece footrest means that the frame can be easily folded for transportation or storage.

Emily Tomson, marketing manager at Gerald Simonds, said: “We are delighted to announce this latest addition to our portfolio of lightweight manual wheelchairs.

“The original Veloce has been a very popular model and this latest innovation by the design team at Motion Composites will benefit our customers who are looking for a wheelchair to suit their active lifestyle.”
