Gainsborough facilitates fast reopening of care homes with bath installations

Gainsborough Specialist Bathrooms has completed the installation of six of its infection-controlling baths at two Hertfordshire care homes, allowing them to reopen as quickly as possible.

The Fairways care home in Watford and Nevetts in Buntingford, run by Hertfordshire County Council, provide care for 40 residents supported by 45 healthcare professionals.

The previously closed facilities are now able to reopen thanks to the installation of a Gentona suite with variable height and bather transfer seats.

The bathing solutions were deemed critical by the operators, Hertfordshire County Council, for maximum resident comfort, safety and hygiene.

The care homes will now take patients undergoing early discharge from hospitals to ease pressure on the NHS.

Councillor Richard Roberts, Hertfordshire cabinet member for adult care & health, commented: “The health and safety of our most vulnerable residents is a top priority for us at Hertfordshire County Council.

“We want to ensure our residents have access to the best possible care when leaving hospital so they can make a full recovery.”
