Wigan-based mobility manufacturer and supplier SimplyMed has recruited the services of industry veteran Joe Cavanagh to help the business implement its UK growth strategy.
Mr Cavanagh, who has held a number of senior posts in the healthcare and mobility market, including managing director of Sidhil and director at Medequip, will join the business in a consultative sale role to support the existing sales team and develop strategies to increase market share.
Prior to his roles at Sidhil and Medequip, Mr Cavanagh ran Homecraft, before which he worked for Smith & Nephew in various senior positions covering pharmaceuticals, healthcare, wound care and rehab for 21 years.
SimplyMed said it hopes its new addition to its team will “springboard” the company in the field as a well-recognised organisation.
SimplyMed’s owners, Trevor Lynch and Peter Winstanley, said Mr Cavanagh will bring valuable experience to team, adding: “with our forthcoming plans will help place our company in a strong position within the marketplace”.
The company said: “At SimplyMed we recognise the importance of establishing and building strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers alike and we aim to be a very approachable and friendly company and this is why we felt Joe would be a great asset within our culture.
“We believe for this relationship to be successful, all our team must work together to achieve the company’s strategic objectives and our team is thoroughly involved and behind this decision.”
SimplyMed is confident Mr Cavanagh’s experience in the fast-developing ADL market and of adapting and implementing strategies will prove invaluable.
In 2004 Mr Cavanagh set up JFC Consultants working on a variety of projects for numerous companies in the rehab market arena. He became a non-executive director at BES for a period of 13 years.
During an extensive commercial career, Mr Cavanagh has been very active in the BHTA serving on a number of committees and for the last six years serving as director.
