Andover-based A to B Mobility has helped bolster a local equipment hire service by supplying four brand new products.
Unity is a local organisation that provides equipment hire to Shopmobility customers and also allows people to hire mobility products for a days or weeks while they are recovering from injury.
The equipment includes a powerchair, a three-wheel scooter, a manual wheelchair and a portable wheelchair.
A to B Mobility also provides Unity with equipment maintenance and servicing.
Terry Bishop, chief executive of Unity, told local radio station, LoveAndover: “We are delighted to be able to use donations received to purchase this new equipment which has given us the opportunity to clear out old stock which has been proving difficult to fix.
“These items enable us to provide the best possible service to our customers and for those thinking about hiring equipment for short term reasons.”
Unity will soon be launching an awareness campaign to inform health professionals about its short-term hire service.
The organisation’s mobility arm will also be running an open morning where it will invite end-users to come and view the equipment, get to grips with it and be offered light training.
