Dolphin Lifts Midlands has been crowned Family Business of the Year at the recent Black Country Chamber Awards.
To be in with a chance of winning, entrants had to show how they are preparing the next generation of their family to ensure continued family ownership of the business.
The judges looked for an organisation that could demonstrate how the family businesses nature and values have contributed to success across the business.
Commenting on the win, Dolphin Lifts Mdlands managing director, Lee Farrington, said: “Here at Dolphin Lifts Midlands, we pride ourselves on offering the highest level of personal care which people expect from a family run business, so to win such a prestigious award that recognises this is fantastic news and makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
Each nominee was visited by a minimum of two judges who looked at how the family values influence the business, the board and ownership structure of the business and how decisions are made and how the interests of the family are balanced against the interests of the business.
Graham Croom, business relationship manager at Black Country Chamber, added: “Dolphin Lifts Midlands have a number of family members within the company and were very worthy winners of the ‘Family Business of the Year’ award. Having gone through a sustained period of growth, they have excellent business relationships across the whole of the Black Country.”
