A mobility company which developed its own range of specialist chairs is set to expand its ability to sell them after finding they have performed well since launch.

Your Mobility’s Chelsea Easy Glide chair has proved highly successful for the distributor and it now plans to bolster staff so it can sell more.

Company director, Howard Smith, said: “Due to the excellent reception we are having across the county with our new chair range, we are now looking to recruit additional sales agents to address the growing demand for what, I believe to be, the ‘best seats in the house’.”

Based in Monmouth, Your Mobility provides a range of seating options for elderly and disabled people.

The company has been keen to engage more closely with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to appraise and educate them on the products.

Smith said: “I am a great believer that occupational therapists are very influential as to what products are recommended or prescribed to help elderly and disabled people live more comfortably.

“It was very pleasing to see that our Chelsea Easy Glide chair range was judged, by a panel of OTs, as one of the best ‘Personal Independent Products’ being exhibited at [the OT Show].

National product support manager, for Your Mobility, Diane Smith, said: “People come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and there are literally scores of differing physical and mental conditions that can impair or limit mobility.

“When designing and specifying our chairs we take into account the needs of the user, the carer and the setting to ensure the best solution is achieved because we believe there is so much more to a chair than just being a seat.

“That is why our chair range is very comprehensive and encompassed within the design of all our products is the ability for good positioning, pressure management and falls prevention.”
