The Nino self-balance wheelchair, distributed in the UK by John Preston Healthcare, was placed under the spotlight recently at the Crufts dog show.
Sue White, a competitor alongside her pet at the world’s most famous dog show, used the Nino self-balance wheelchair to compete at this highest level.
The Nino works by the user leaning forward to go and leaning back to stop, and the controls are designed to allow users to focus on doing what needs to be done.
Designed with superior manoeuvrability in mind, White’s Nino was able to complete tight turns quickly and match the agility of her dog.
Outside of the competition section itself, the Nino performed well when navigating around the venue and being transported in a suitable vehicle.
It uses auto-stabilising technology and the in-built electronics manage the stability.
John Preston Healthcare will be showing the Nino at the Naidex Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham next month.
