One of Cornwall Mobility’s independent living assessors is raising money for the Freedom Fund through her involvement with a series of running events.

Cornwall Mobilitiy’s Lisa Boaden began running three years ago with the aim of completing a Race for Life in memory of her late mother. Having reached this milestone she continued to run and has now set up the Freedom Fund.

The fund is designed to help young disabled or mobility challenged adults who want to access and participate in outdoor leisure activities by providing equipment, adaptations and funding. The Freedom Fund looks to work with young adults between the ages of 18 and 30.

To launch the Freedom Fund Lisa took part in the Arc of Attrition Winter 100 Mile Ultramarathon on February 10 this year and managed 74 miles.

The JustGiving page explains that Boaden is looking to complete more events to support the fund. Donations are open until December 12.
