Adaptive solution firm Clos-o-Mat has indicated that it is centralising its business, bringing design advice, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance in-house on its ceiling track hoist service.
Clos-o-Mat is hoping to attract care home operators with its new service, which will see a comprehensive offering on its fixed ceiling track hoist solutions.
The company says its hoist range has the flexibility to address moving a person finitely within a single room or room-to-room transfer, from the floor or a piece of furniture or equipment. It can lift up to 31st (200kg), and moves them smoothly and easily with soft start and stop operation.
“Under the British Standard, 5% of bedrooms in a nursing or residential home should be accessible and include a fixed track hoist, and it is ‘the preferred solution’ for the bedroom to include en-suite sanitary accommodation. Further, the accessible bedroom and en-suite should cater for as wide a range of disabilities as possible,” commented Kelvin Grimes, Clos-o-Mat’s moving and handling project manager.
“It’s simple to design a system that enables the care worker to lift someone from the bed, transfer them into the shower, over the toilet, and back, or from room to room, along corridors, without even exiting the hoist! That makes it safer, and more dignified, for all involved. It eliminates the risk of the wrong hoist, or wrong sling, being picked for the job.”
Aside from its hoist range, Clos-o-Mat offers its Vita range of wash and dry toilets, Aerolet toilet lifters, and accessible bathroom accessories, all designed to deliver client dignity and optimum hygiene in intimate care.
