Clearwell Mobility has been appointed as the exclusive distributor of the NINO powerchair in the South East.
The innovative powerchair, which is manufactured by NINO Robotics in France, aims to differentiate itself from other powerchairs on the market and combines Segway technology with a wheelchair solution.
The NINO enables users to go forwards and backwards by moving their torso and also has the ability to connect a smartphone to monitor and control the powerchair.
With two central wheels, users can turn sideways and completely rotate instantly, without going backwards and forwards.
Designed and manufactured in Montpellier, France, and modelled to distract from disability, the NINO is designed to be a fashionable powerchair that focuses on design and individuality for the rider.
At less than half the length of a traditional wheelchair, it enables users even more freedom to move around, without the frustration of a traditional chair.
Duncan Gillett, managing director at Clearwell Mobility, said: “The NINO is simply head and shoulders above other powerchairs and is perfect for people with good upper body strength.
“The combination of Segway technology and wheelchair design has the potential to revolutionise people’s independence and break down access barriers.
“It’s also a thing of beauty – something to show off and be proud of, and it’s not often you can say that about a powered wheelchair.”
The NINO is being sold across the Clearwell Mobility network of stores in the South East and customers can also arrange free home assessments without obligation.
Clearwell Mobility’s engineers have also attended training at NINO Robotics’ headquarters.
