A North Wales mobility dealership has reiterated its belief that British manufactured seating products are the best quality after it had a poor experience with a foreign supplier.
DSL Mobility’s managing director, Russell Allmand, revealed to AMP he had been spending around £250,000 with a company that he said had been using a handset and motor manufactured outside of the UK.
“Being an electrician, I questioned the quality and sadly it turned out that basically it was a major disaster. They were very poor. Fortunately we got to know about it quickly so we didn’t supply many of them and we replaced all the handsets and the motors,” Allmand explained.
He added: “The British chairs in particular are the best – you may pay a bit more but most of the suppliers with British-built chairs supply damn good chairs and they will last. We do buy fantastic products from around the world but I’m still a great believer in that when it comes to chairs, the British ones are undoubtedly the best.”
DSL Mobility’s Wrexham-site is able to stock a vast range of seating solutions thanks to its 6,000 square foot retail outlet.
Allmand’s area of expertise is in postural support and seating solutions.
The retailer has two sites based in North Wales and is in the fortunate position of being able to stock a large amount of substantial mobility products from its Wrexham and Bangor bases.
