Bingo hall under fire as it waits for engineers to fix faulty stairlift

Computer Hackers Congress Starts In Hamburg

A Mecca bingo hall in Exeter has been criticised for ‘failing to fix’ a £15,000 stair lift which broke and left disabled customers without access.

The bingo hall’s general manager said that the cost of the repair was not an issue but that it was waiting on engineers to come out and fix it.

If is not clear which firm is responsible for the stairlift’s maintenance. Mobility companies and stairlift installers are under increasing pressure these days to provide quick and effective maintenance to customers.

Customers claim to have been calling the bingo hall “every day” for news on the faulty stair lift but it has reportedly not yet been fixed.

One customer told Devon Live: “I have nothing against the manager here but it seems to me they are just not doing enough to look after their customers. It is not just me. There are half a dozen other disabled bingo players who spent a lot of time and money here.”

The company said it is doing everything it can to sort the problem.
