Beach Access North East makes world record wheelchair user attempt

Beach Access North East has made an attempt to break the world record for the most moving wheelchairs in a line.

According to a report in the Chronicle, in total, 108 wheelchair users circled the Whitley Bay sea front, led by paralympian and honorary president of BANE, Stephen Miller.

Unfortunately, the team missed out on the world record which is held by a group in Minnesota in the US at 351 participants.

The report went on to detail how the BANE group did beat the UK record though, which was held by Canterbury at 70 users.

Commenting, Miller told the Chronicle: “It was really nice for me to lead the line, to try and break the record and try and help raise awareness of Beach Access North East and the work they do.”
