The Dealer of the Year (Rest of UK) award, sponsored by Trilift UK, recognises the region’s top-performing mobility dealerships that have demonstrated commitment and innovation to drive their businesses, and the industry, forward, over what has been a challenging year.

We are delighted to announce that the 2019 shortlist includes the following dealers:

Few mobility multiples have come to close to replicating CareCo’s march for expansion this year. The retailer has demonstrated its ambitions to become a truly national retailer, branching out from the South and venturing as far north as Leeds and Glasgow. Its huge online operation is increasingly being supported by a growing network of physical stores. Some industry peers believe CareCo has finally discovered the ideal balance between internet sales and high street shops – a sweet spot so many have searched for to no avail. The retailer is far from satisfied with its already enviable portfolio and it continues to roll out its proven store model across the UK.

Easy Living Mobility

Easy Living Mobility has been one of the market’s most closely followed retailers this year. The most notable development to have come out of the Midlands-based dealer was the launch of its new franchise concept, which has been years in the making. The new model promises to be a new take on current concepts in the industry and is based on Easy Living Mobility’s core values and impressive retail infrastructure. After its initial launch, the franchise offering whipped up a storm of interest and the first store launched on the brink of summer. If the franchise rollout continues as planned, Easy Living Mobility could well become the market’s new dominant force.

Ableworld UK

Yet again, Ableworld UK has demonstrated that to sit at the top of the pile businesses need to continually invest and develop. The national retailer opened its largest store to date and launched another expansive site, strengthening its grip on the market. Across the rest of its portfolio, the business has marched on with its store upgrade programme, which has seen various shops overhauled and refurbished so they can fit more stock and offer a better customer experience. At its new store in Llandudno, the firm is trialling a new community hub model and the business debuted its own in-house customer magazine. It has been a productive year but Ableworld is far from done yet.

Since it received a multi-million pound investment in 2018, Bristol-based Middletons has expanded at a break-neck pace, opening nationwide stores at a number of key locations. The company is already over halfway to reaching its target of 22 stores, which will lay the bedrock for a retail empire spanning the UK. Far from relying on its size, Middletons has impressed both customers and competitors with an enviable set of plush showrooms and innovative ideas, like its door-to-store service. It is at the vanguard of the modern mobility retail experience and has set the tone for future businesses in this sector. The company has demonstrated it has the brawn and brains to make itself one of UK retail’s leading lights and it is already hot on the heels of the established industry giants.

Dolphin Lifts Midlands

This family-run business has been supplying and installing quality products for more than 30 years and specialises in running large local authority contracts. Dolphin Lifts Midlands has further developed its relationship with one of its main suppliers recently, contributing to outstanding growth in stairlift sales over the past two years. Dolphin achieved 188% revenue growth in 2018 with a major stairlift manufacturer; a fantastic result which was recognised when it was announced as the supplier’s elite dealer of the year in the spring. The distributor remains on a positive trajectory and is well placed to make best use of the expanding mobility market nationwide.

The 2019 AMP Awards ceremony takes place on Monday 21 October at The Dressler, 113 Chancery Ln in London. It is free to attend for dealers. To register your interest, email
