AMP AWARDS 2018 SHORTLIST: Best Online Initiative

The Best Online Initiative award recognises those dealers that have used the internet in forward-thinking and impressive ways to capitalise on the rapidly expanding world of e-commerce, improve the customer experience and advance their business.

We are delighted to announce that the 2018 shortlist includes the following dealers:

Rise Furniture and Mobility
Although in its first year of trading, Rise Furniture and Mobility has already found itself in several local and national awards and is blazing a trail online where its website has played a key role in getting the business onto its feet. Paying careful attention to each element, the dealer has designed the site to be easy-to-use for elderly people but it also appeals to family relatives who may be more familiar with online shopping. The site does not simply focus on buying products but has a blog to provide valuable information and advice, from tips on getting a good night’s sleep to how to choose mobility aids.

Stechford Mobility (Ideas in Action)
Conscious of the importance of its customers’ social needs, Stechford Mobility has worked to ensure its online presence provides much more than mobility equipment. Having produced a number of online resources to help disabled and older people learn, socialise, join groups and clubs and keep fit, Stechford values the potential of online as much as shop space. The dealer has also used customer reviews on various online platforms to its advantage and has used them effectively to show would-be customers and their relatives that its focus on honesty, reliability and friendliness makes it a competitive choice.

Unique Mobility
An entire company rebrand is no easy task and ensuring online platforms are consistent with the new themes and project a fresh image is equally as tough. It is even harder without the aid of professional web designers but business development manager Barry Reeve has managed to completely rebuild and populate Unique’s website as part of its rebrand. Working tirelessly on adding products and creating new areas has resulted in excellent feedback on and the company is generating daily enquiries online for products that were often undiscovered with before. The professional and up-to-date website puts Unique in a good position when it comes to future-proofing the business.

Keen to break away from the stereotype of online retailers being little more than ‘box-shifters’, MobiQuip’s new ecommerce model proved in its first few weeks it is a market disrupter. Taking a refreshing approach, it insists it is not entering the race at the bottom where others have. The boom MobiQuip experienced on launch left its founders overwhelmed with leads and orders, showing online sellers can differentiate on things other than price and customers will respond. Pitching itself to the new-to-market customer, MobiQuip believes it has a great opportunity to capture even more business in the coming months.

Spring Chicken
As an online-only dealer, Spring Chicken has shown this year that it knows the importance of being active in its chosen space. Further increasing its stake in the online market, Spring Chicken’s relentless pursuit of traffic and engagement on social media and its blog has seen it become one of the most talked-about retailers in the game. Its ever expanding reputation reflects the company’s initiative to capitalise on the evermore tech-savvy end-user and shows it is very much in-tune with changing demographics. A clean and crisp website is being continually improved to make Spring Chicken a pleasant shopping experience for customers.

The 2018 AMP Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday 7 October, the first evening of the Trade Days show, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
