Accessible bathroom manufacturer, AKW, has rebranded its Bluetooth enabled electric shower as the AKW SmartCare Plus.
The company intends the SmartCare Plus, as it will be named from 1 November, to be positioned as the flagship product in a new range of AKW ‘smart’ products that the company will be launching in the future.
The SmartCare Plus is the world’s first Bluetooth smart electric shower.
Ruth Ingledew, AKW’s managing director, said that the rebranding process “creates a strong foundation on which we can build our future ‘smart’ range of products”.
“This is part of AKW’s commitment to the continued design of inclusive and care bathroom products, which include features approved by OTs and other healthcare professionals, and which increase the safety and independence of those with reduced mobility or sensory impairments.”
In March AKW was re-joined by former CEO, Nick Parsons, who was brought in to ‘refocus its strategy’ after the company was bought out by PennantPark Investment Advisers.
Ingledew, who was formerly AKW’s marketing director up until 2012, also re-joined the company as MD.
