Wheelchair services and community equipment provider, AJM Healthcare, has established a new presence in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, after recently winning a contract in the area.
The equipment supplier, which serves the NHS and local authority care providers, took out a lease on two brand new units at Kingfisher Court in Hinchingbrooke Business Park.
The units’ combined light industrial and office space of over 5,000 square foot will be from where AJM Healthcare will establish its presence in the region and serve local clients.
AJM’s new outpost is served by key road networks, which will aid logistics and the location of the new business park has been key in attracting all the new occupiers, according to local property agent, Barker Storey Matthews.
AJM Healthcare underwent a management buy-out last year and has been expanding outside of its HQ in London, targeting contracts further afield.
It plans to become a key national provider of wheelchair services and community equipment in the near future and is working to make itself an increasingly competitive choice for commissioners.
The firm has invested heavily recently in new systems and bosses have aimed lay out all the necessary groundwork to ensure the business maintains sustainability and quality as it scales.
In an interview with AMP last year, operations director, Steve Peck, said that the company has prepared ahead for a number of potential new contracts to ensure it is able to deliver.
He said: “You always ensure you’ve got things in place before you take it onto the next level. We’re in that position now and the MBO allows us to do that even more because there’s more investment. It also allows the likes of Mark and myself to run this company how we feel it should be led.”
