Airospring unveils “revolutionary” range of pressure cushions after five years of research

Derbyshire-based pressure care specialist Airospring has released a “revolutionary” new range of dementia-friendly pressure cushions.

The AS120 PRO cushion boasts a non-clinical look that is designed to look like a standard household cushion in order to remove any daunting aspect for patients, and is the result of over five years of academic research.

Airospring said that during the creation of the cushions, the company had worked with an assortment of organisations including Alzheimer’s Society and The Care Workers Charity.

It said that its professionals have lots of experience in the care industry and wanted to create a cushion to help those with dementia.

The cushions are fashioned from a comfortable and breathable material, 3D spacer fabric, which Airospring says is a more effective method of providing pressure relief.

A testimonial of the product written on the Airospring website reads: “It was much better for my husband as he didn’t think the cushion was to stop him from getting damage and therefore he didn’t mind sitting on it. And the bright colours made it easy to see!”

It is designed to fit any wheelchair and is available in three colours, Lime Green, Baby Blue and Orange, retailing at a price of £39.99.
