Major mobility retailer, Ableworld, has announced it is now ‘laying the groundwork’ ready for its 33rd store opening in Bournemouth latest this summer.

The dealer revealed to AMP last month that it had expansion plans in motion for later this year and it is now preparing to open its new store following an official announcement.

Currently the largest specialist retail mobility company in the UK, Ableworld is still growing and it is continuing to award franchises across the UK. The new mobility superstore will be at 1565 Wimborne Road, Bournemouth, BH10 7AX.

The news comes as Lifestyle & Mobility, another Southern mobility retailer has opened a new store in a shopping centre in Bournemouth. It also indicated it may look to open a further store in neighbouring Poole this year as it looks for a significant stake in the area. Competition in the area is expected to increase as more dealers look for business on the South Coast.

New Ableworld franchisees, Chris and Eddie’s involvement in the specialist field of elderly care was sparked by Chris’s decision in 2008 to become a full time carer for his mother and aunt in London. Something he did for 8 years until 2016, the last few years with Eddie’s help.

During this time they both experienced first-hand the difficulties in finding reputable firms and products for the needs of the elderly and infirm, the company said. This experience led them to wanting to pursue a career within the sector after their return to Bournemouth and they see working with brand leader Ableworld as the perfect opportunity.
