Ableworld cushions the blow for Winsford care home

A Winsford care home will be able to make its residents more comfortable after receiving a recent donation of Ableworld cushions.

Mobility equipment specialist Ableworld’s Northwich branch was drafted in to help when a local man, whose father had been a resident of Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, decided to thank the home.

Andrew Matzen got in touch with the care home to ask if it was in need of anything as a means of thanks after his father passed away in the Elmhurst team’s care.

Now Matzen, with help from other members of his family, delivered a total of 23 cushions, offered at a discount by Ableworld.

The money was raised by Andrew and Chris Matzen at their father Ronald’s funeral.

The Elmhurst team expressed its thanks for the donation.

On top of what he has already done, Andrew Matzen will now host a karaoke night at the care home to raise money for the remaining cushions required by the care home.

A spokesperson at Ableworld Northwich said: “We are really pleased we could help Andrew in his mission to support a local care home, it is a lovely thing to do.

“We are proud be able to play a small part in helping our local community through this difficult time, and wish Andrew every success.”

In the video below the Ableworld team thanks its customers for their support during the pandemic.
