Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions has been presented with the Excellence in Caring Award at the OT Show for its pioneering Gemini 2000 hi-lo bath.
The Gemini 2000 is a larger and longer version of the original Gemini bath which Abacus says is regarded as a proven choice by many OTs.
The Gemini is a power assisted bath with variable height and integrated platform so that carers and disabled bathers can benefit from greater safety and comfort.
Carers can support at safe working heights without the need to bend and awkward transfers are eliminated so changing and drying is more dignified for bathers.
Manufactured in the UK by the Gainsborough Healthcare Group, the Gemini 2000 was introduced in 2019 to offer a future proofed approach to bathing.
With its 2-metre long bathing space, it can support a wider range of adult and paediatric care needs and represents the largest platform bathing solution on the market today.
Following its nomination by the exhibition organisers, the judging panel visited the Abacus stand at the show and were given a product demonstration by David Bertorelli, Abacus Regional Assessment Manager.
Abacus’ success was announced at the end of day one during the exhibitor drinks reception with Andy Williams, Abacus Sales and Marketing Manager receiving the award on behalf of the brand.
Williams commented: “We are honoured to receive this award as it officially recognises the excellence of Abacus bathing solutions. This accolade is testament to the dedication of all our team – from R&D and manufacturing through to assessment managers and consultant OTs.”
Adding: “I would like to thank them for all their hard work and also congratulate the OT Show on delivering another exceptional event. This award now provides the perfect platform for us to increase awareness of the Gemini 2000 with a view to helping more disabled individuals experience safe bathing and all its associated benefits.”
