OT Adam Ferry will be hosting his first assisted bathing CPD seminar since the spring at OTAC Southampton, in association with Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions.
Occupational Therapy Adaptations Conference, Southampton (OTAC) will take place on October 14 between 9am-6pm in the Hilton at the Ageaas Bowl.
OTAC confirmed it would be operating slightly differently and will be adhering to all Covid-19 restrictions in place at the hotel.
In this session Ferry will consider the occupation of bathing with a particular focus on how bathing can support sleep and positive routines.
He will discuss the impact on children and their parents as well as adults and their carers.
Prior to the seminar, the following learning outcomes were outlined:
• Delegates will reflect on bathing as a meaningful occupation
• Greater appreciation of the link between bathing and sleep
• Consider impact of a positive bedtime routine on clients and their carers
• Develop greater understanding of equipment available to support bathing as a meaningful occupation
In addition to supporting an educational seminar, Abacus will be exhibiting its range of power-assisted accessible baths and respected postural bathing supports.
On stand 20, the award-winning Gemini 2000 hi-lo platform bath will be available for hands-on trialling with advice from a senior Abacus Assessor and Adam Ferry, OT.
