Mobility retailer, Yorkshire Care Equipment, has outlined its intentions to grow three-fold in the next few years.
Marking its 45th year trading, CEO Tom Hulbert said the company has “big plans in the pipeline”, and that the firm wants to see itself treble in size by 2020.
The company now has 25 members of staff, managed by six family members, and has recently started developing its own products for the mobility and healthcare sector, which it said was “just the beginning of its own range”.
“Our family shares the same passion to see Yorkshire Care grow, so I’m confident that we can achieve this and continue to enhance quality of life for all our clients,” said Hulbert.
Yorkshire Care Equipment, a family-run company based in Harrogate, originally opened a shop in Headingley, Leeds in 1972.
After the original owner fell ill and had to sell the business, the Hulbert family took over Yorkshire Care Equipment in 1995. Led by Duncan Hulbert and his two sons, Gordon and John, the company grew until they were eventually forced to move to bigger premises.
Now retired from the business, Duncan Hulbert said that he enjoyed the satisfaction of being in a growing company with a growing market.
“I am happy to see the business being passed down the family to my grandsons. Their enthusiastic hard work and understanding of modern technology and methods has given the business fresh impetus.”
Meanwhile, Tom Hulbert said: “I took over as CEO five years ago. It was such an exciting time for the business as me, my brothers and cousins could see the potential in the company and it had been a huge part of our lives for as long as we could remember.
