The Unlimited Company by Simplyhealth launched its new retail outlet yesterday in Leeds.
The retailer’s 14th store is its only Northern shop, aside from Blackburn, and marks a shift away from its Southern sites as it eyes expansion further afield.
The store’s launch was attended by Team BRIT Racing which is aiming to get injured troops competing in the Le Mans race and looks to inspire people with disability, PTSD and mental health issues by demonstrating what can be achieved through motorsport.
Team member Andy Searle represented Team BRIT at the launch alongside one of the team’s specialist cars.
The race cars, powered by an 1800cc, 130 bhp VW/Audi petrol engine with Sadev sequential gearbox, paddle-shift and fully adjustable suspension have been specially adapted and fitted with world-leading hand controls.
The team announced its partnership with The Unlimited Company earlier this year which will involve the dealer providing support and assistance to help the team achieve its goals.
Speaking on the partnership in February, Matt Main, managing director of The Unlimited Company, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Team BRIT. We believe in living life without limits and their goal to drive in the Le Mans 24 hour race is certainly doing that! We are really excited to be supporting the team to achieve their goal.”
Meanwhile, Team BRIT’s team principal, Dave Player, said: “We’re over the moon that The Unlimited Company has chosen to partner with Team BRIT. We want to give those that want to step up to a higher level of racing the opportunity to do so, regardless of injuries, competing against teams of able-bodied drivers on a totally level playing field — something that no other sport can offer.”
Simplyhealth’s Unlimited Company already operates shops in Andover, Bicester, Blackburn, Wrexham, Bristol and Radstock. It also owns two sites operated by Independent Living and five run by Care & Mobility. One of its shops is run by Collins Care.
