Which?-style mobility aid review website enters development stage

A new website designed to be like a Which? review service for mobility aids and independent living products is asking consumers to help shape and develop it as it prepares to launch early next year.

The Rate it! project is being launched by Rica, Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living (LCIL) and Enabled by Design, who are all working alongside Which?.

The group has developed a new questionnaire which it hopes will help to get the website operational and allow people to more effectively compare and review mobility aids.

It is asking for consumers’ thoughts and ideas on how best to make the online reviews relevant, accessible and inclusive.

Rica, which is a consumer research organisation, believes there is currently a gap in providing information on products for disabled people.

The project is being funded by the Big Lottery through the DRILL (Disability Research for Independent Living and Learning) programme.

The website is designed to help raise consumer awareness and inform choice about products that can assist with independent living.
