A milestone has been reached in the construction of the Moor’s Nook retirement living scheme in Horsell, Woking.
Specialist contractor Stepnell has begun construction of the multi-storey steel frame of the 34 retirement living apartments.
“With the steel frame going up this month, passers-by will be able to see this very high specification retirement living scheme really starting to take shape,” says Rob Speirs, regional director for Stepnell’s Poole office.
“Construction is progressing well on the project and our next big milestone will be the concreting of all floors which we expect to be starting work on in December and completing in the new year.”
The four-storey complex of one- and two-bed apartments includes a visitor reception, communal lounge, outdoor terrace, and an enclosed central courtyard, as well as parking for cars, bicycles and mobility scooters.
The horseshoe-designed complex has been designed to complement the style of neighbouring Victorian properties by Coffey Architects.
