Staff at a Leeds-based mobility aids company have de-cluttered and donated unwanted clothing by the bagful to help its charity partner Age UK’s Big Bag Challenge.
Handicare, which works with Age UK Trading CIC to provide straight and curved stairlifts and accessible bathing solutions, donated clothes and other items.
The team in Guiseley donated the items in a bid to help the Big Bag Challenge reach its goal of collecting an additional 100,000 bags of goods across the country in just two weeks.
Handicare’s director, David Harrison, said: “As the weather starts to get cooler, and people are starting to think about finding room for their winter wardrobe we thought it was a perfect opportunity to help Age UK with their campaign to boost donations.
“The team did a fantastic job of filling their Big Bag Challenge carriers – there was barely room in the office for all of them.”
Every bag donated to the Big Bag Challenge is worth an average £20 to Age UK (based on the amount of bags donated from April 2016 to March 2017) and raises vital funds to help older people love later life.
