Staels Design will be officially launching its WheelAir cooling wheelchair cushion at a launch event on Saturday in Glasgow.
The event comes as the company launches its Kickstarter campaign which is hunting for £30,000 so that it can commercially manufacture its product.
Housing Options Scotland, Simply Emma and the Michael Kerr Foundation are partnering with the firm for its event.
Music, mingling, light refreshments and a welcome speech from founder, Corien Staels will form part of the event in addition to an opportunity to test the new product.
The WheelAir was developed by Staels Design, a firm founded just over a year ago by Corien Staels, a recent MSc graduate at the University of Glasgow.
Staels’ solution, the WheelAir, is a battery powered, ergonomically designed cushion that cools the back of the user by gently blowing air onto their backs.
