Rise recliner supplier, Repose, showcased its specialist Boston and Harlem Porter seating solutions at The Care Show 2018 last week.
The manufacturer was targeting care home buyers but has an expanding mobility retail network, many of whom sell to care homes themselves.
The ranges Repose showcased are designed to be suitable for elderly people with neurological conditions, including dementia and Huntingdon’s.
They aim to provide numerous health and well-being benefits, including providing postural and pressure care support and helping with circulation and agitation.
Managing director, Lisa Wardley, told AMP’s sister title, CHP: “This is our first care home show and it has gone well. The response has been very good.
“People have liked the colour and quality and the different options we provide.”
The dementia friendly products come in water proof, anti-MRSA and easily washable fabrics. Replaceable pressure management cushions ensure chairs can be adapted to meet people’s needs.
Offering comfort and security, the chairs are easy to access during bed transfers, reducing the risk of falls and reliance on hoist support.
Available in a manual or electric model, The Boston combines tilt-in-space and independently controlled back recline and leg elevation so that carer’s can adjust the user’s position to relieve pressure and provide all-day comfort.
