Specialised Orthotic Services (SOS) is preparing to make a range of its products available through the Amazon market place as it looks to widen its sales channel in the UK.
The Staffordshire-based outfit, which manufactures all its products in Britain, hopes the move will allow its seating, mobility and positioning equipment to reach more customers.
Speaking to Access & Mobility Professional at Naidex, SOS’ strategic account manager, Neal Dadswell, explained the company has enjoyed strong organic growth but is keen to open up new distribution channels, including selling on Amazon.
He said the company was close to launching an Amazon shop and that the process of getting everything ready has been relatively smooth and quick.
“The idea is to try to find new customers really,” he said. “We have grown organically from the business that we do with the people who know us, but as a company we are always looking for new avenues to explore.”
The Amazon move augments the firm’s strategy to step up its channel coverage in 2017. Mr Dadswell confirmed that while SOS isn’t looking to recruit dozens of new dealers, it is keen to harvest relationships with key strategic partners that will work closely with the company.
SOS has been specialising in the seating, mobility and positioning market for more than 35 years. It has formed strong ties with NHS wheelchair services, occupational therapists and physiotherapists to ensure clients receive the best possible seating solutions.
Its product range includes equipment such as the Hydro-Pod hydrotherapy flotation device and glider, Miko and Flexi Seat combination for schools and nurseries, and the popular P Pods posture support system.
