Solent Mobility Centre, based near Portsmouth, took home two crowns at its local business awards last Friday.
The mobility dealer, which is owned by Shepherd Hospital Equipment Ltd, was named as ‘retailer of the year’ and also won the ‘customer service’ award above all other local businesses in the area as part of The News Business Excellence Awards.
Director of Solent Mobility, Ben Watts, said: “[I] couldn’t be more proud of what we have achieved together. These awards are a testament to the hard work I see our team put into everything they do. Very proud”.
The awards, which are now displayed in its showroom, come during Solent Mobility’s 10th year trading.
Ben Watts and brother Jamie Watts recently took over as permanent directors of the company after founder Michael and Debbie Watts left to pursue a new artisan wine business as an alternative to retirement.
But the couple will still be involved in the running of Solent Mobility, which is considered as one of the largest mobility showrooms in the area.
Jamie Watts joined the company early on as an engineer and is now a fully qualified engineer. Brother Ben Watts joined in 2009 as an engineer and became fully qualified on the service and maintenance of stairlifts, scooters and other mobility equipment.
