Oxfordshire-based mobility dealer Recare is to open a new showroom in Kettering, Northamptonshire, after taking over one of community equipment provider, Millbrook Healthcare’s four Mi-Life retail outlets.
The new ‘My-Life by Recare’ showroom will run in addition to its current store in Long Hanborough and aims to broaden the company’s reach and provide a solution for complex mobility needs in the area, which it feels have been “lacking in the local area until now”.
Recare will work in the same facility as Millbrook Healthcare’s Northamptonshire wheelchair service at the Kettering Mi-Life base in a unique care and mobility provision model. This includes offering a range of clinical and technical support while offering a wide choice to individuals.
Recare’s managing director, Richard Holland-Oakes, said that company owners should “always be looking for different avenues to develop and grow your business”.
“With the introduction of Personal Wheelchair Budgets starting to take effect, alongside tighter NHS budgets for mobility needs, this is an ideal move for Recare.”
Recare will also seek to develop other service offerings within the new Kettering showroom to replicate the success of its Oxfordshire showroom and clinical facility.
Millbrook’s Mi-Life retail concept now has three stores located in Oxfordshire, Dorset and Warwickshire, which sprung up on the back of its wheelchair service bases. It was established to complement its tendering arm and in response to the expanding private funding market.
