Recare is looking to set up its very own network of mobility dealers in the UK and Ireland after it became the sole UK distributor for the Klaxon Klick range of wheelchair power add-ons.
Managing director, Richard Holland-Oakes, believes that this strategy is part of Recare’s “natural progression” and thinks taking on the new product will add value to its trade and end-user customers.
The Klaxon Klick is designed to stand out with a linking system, currently awaiting a worldwide patent, allowing the handbike to be connected and disconnected from a wheelchair within seconds with minimal effort from the user.
Alongside the new launch, Recare has also revamped its website which it hopes will complement its new distribution deal.
In March, Recare opened a new showroom in Kettering, Northamptonshire, after taking over one of Millbrook Healthcare’s four Mi-Life retail outlets.
The new ‘My-Life by Recare’ showroom runs in addition to its current store in Long Hanborough and aims to broaden the company’s reach and provide a solution for complex mobility needs in the area, which it feels have been “lacking in the local area until now”.
Recare works in the same facility as Millbrook Healthcare’s Northamptonshire wheelchair service at the Kettering Mi-Life base in a unique care and mobility provision model.
This includes offering a range of clinical and technical support while offering a wide choice to individuals.
