Ottobock will be returning to the World Para Athletics in Berlin this summer along with its Repair Service Centre, which will provide athletes with all their equipment maintenance needs.
The prosthetics and mobility supplier is the official supplier of the European Championships in August and its technicians will be drafted in to ensure athletes can keep training and competing.
The centre includes the repairing of every type of equipment, from prostheses to racing wheelchairs and throwing frames – or any type of device athletes may need.
Ottobock has been involved in previous World and European Championships such as the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships, where it partnered with Recare.
The company is the longest serving partner of the Paralympic Games, offering technical services since Seoul 1988.
Haozhe Gao, World Para Athletics senior manager, said: “We are delighted to announce Ottobock as World Para Athletics Official Supplier and to count on Ottobock’s support at the European Championships in Berlin. The company has been an important partner for many years and athletes will once again benefit from its invaluable services during the competition.”
Ottobock’s chief marketing officer, Christin Gunkel said: “For Ottobock it is very important to let the athletes focusing on their competition not their equipment, which is highly professional and individual in the disciplines of Para athletics.
“We are proud to support all Para athletics athletes with our technical services and let them show their best performances at the Berlin 2018 World Para Athletics European Championships.”
