The global mobility manufacturer has been run by Mr Sintorn since 2009 and during his reign he took the company from a value of around £85m to nearly £340m.

During the last decade, Permobil says it has grown from a niche player to a “global leader” in mobility solutions.

Mr Sintorn said that he is “very proud” to have helped Permobil achieve the results it has.

“We have entered new markets, added new product lines and many new features, including digitisation of our products.

“The employees of Permobil have a big heart in everything they do for the users and customers. I am convinced that the company will maintain its user focus and continue to deliver fantastic performance.”

Mr Thorsson said: “I am very impressed with Permobil’s innovation capacity and the way the company delivers value to its users and customers by improving quality of life.

“With strong underlying demographic trends and opportunities in connectivity and digitalisation, the company is well positioned for continued profitable growth. I am excited to come on board.”

Mr Sintorn and Mr Thorsson will work in parallel during a transition period before the new CEO takes over on 1st September.
