Millbrook Healthcare achieved nearly 120% of its fundraising target when its staff carried out activities in support of the Alzheimer’s Society during Dementia Action Week recently.
Employees at the wheelchair services provider came together to help spread awareness and raise funds for the charity in a week which saw much of the mobility industry fundraising.
Phillip Campling, managing director for Millbrook Healthcare, said that supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and raising awareness for dementia is “extremely important” to the company.
“Last year a number of our staff were trained as Dementia Friends, which has given our front line teams the tools and knowledge to work with those who have dementia.”
Millbrook Healthcare recently opened a new mobility retail outlet on a business park in Southampton.
A string of tender wins and retentions between June 2016 and 2017 saw it maintain a steady stream of strong sales, amounting to more than £88m for the period.
The mobility equipment and wheelchair service provider managed to win three “significant” contracts during the period, comprised of Kent Wheelchairs, London Consortium and Devon ICES. It also retained four tenders in what directors described as a “successful year”.
