Elite wheelchair athletes who are set to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday are preparing themselves and their equipment for one of the most important dates in the sporting calendar.
The athletes are taking part in a dedicated training session at Mile End where they will be met by media and photographers.
Wheelchair athletes for the marathon normally train at Victoria Park but this location was unavailable this year so they have relocated.
The Virgin Money London Marathon will be one of the most widely-attended races this year.
Prior to the main race the elite men’s, elite women’s, wheelchair and World Para Athletics Marathon World Cup races will set off on the 26.2 mile race.
Athletes and fun runners alike have been warned to go slower than usual because of the warm weather.
Temperatures are forecast to hit 23C on Sunday afternoon and organisers have brought in thousands of bottles of extra water and ice.
