Mobility and homecare equipment supplier Invacare recently attended the inaugural Training2Care Dementia Conference at The Essex Golf & Country Club, where it displayed a range of Dementia-friendly products.
Alongside providing marketing support at the conference, Invacare’s business development managers displayed a selection of equipment and discussed in-depth with delegates how these solutions could assist in the care of an individual with Dementia.
The equipment on display included the Robin ceiling hoist, the fully-powered height and tilt adjustable Aquatec Ocean E-VIP shower chair commode and the Etude Plus Low community bed. A selection of Pressure Area Care mattresses and seating solutions were also on display at the conference to help illustrate how they can assist in care for patients with Dementia.
Held to coincide with the launch of the Inclusive Mobile Virtual Dementia Tour, a variety of speakers, including the inventor of the Virtual Dementia Tour PK Beville and Dr Mary Kennedy, appeared at the conference which was attended by around 150 delegates.
The range of topics discussed during the day included the implications of Dementia on health and social care practice, the impact of simulation learning on the care of people living with Dementia and the importance of Dementia-specific care training for staff.
After the event, delegates could gather an insight into the challenges of living with Dementia by experiencing both Virtual Dementia Tour buses.
