Eden Mobility is hoping for a sales boost from an exclusive line of scooters based on the iconic Ford Model T – a classic car that was built by the US motor manufacturer between 1908 and 1927.
The company introduced the ‘Eden Gatsby’ model to its portfolio before Christmas and is now stocking the vehicle at its Barnsley, Doncaster, Mansfield, Rotherham and Scunthorpe stores.
It features all of the quirks and technologies that a modern, luxury mobility scooter has, but retains the vintage looks that made the Ford model iconic.
The vehicle boasts Model T-style headlights and a “captain-style” seat that offers maximum comfort and can swivel 360 degrees.
Eden has published several images of the scooter on its website, noting that it is able to bring the model out to prospective customers’ homes for them to trial it.
Inclination-adjustable armrests and adjustable back and headrests allow users to obtain the perfect driving position, while the large, lockable front bonnet provides plenty of room for storage.
The Gatsby features a fully independent suspension that ensures the smoothest of rides and pneumatic, air-filled tyres.
Eden is one of the largest sellers of mobility equipment and living aids in the country, with 29 stores, mainly throughout the north of England. In its last financial year it made a turnover of £11m.
