The Care & Mobility showroom in Willenhall, near Wolverhampton, has been replaced by a new mobility dealership three months after it closed down.

Willenhall & Wolverhampton Mobility & Stairlifts Ltd is the new business to occupy the unit, which had been operated by Simplyhealth’s Care & Mobility brand for 12 years.

The new retailer, run by David Foote, has recruited Care & Mobility’s store manager, Ann Marston, to work at the shop.

She has already begun offering information and guidance to customers regarding warranty issues that may have arisen with equipment purchased from the former company.

A total of five Care & Mobility outlets became available in the West Midlands in November after parent company Simplyhealth announced it would close them.

The company’s chief commercial officer, Raman Sankaran, said: “Although, we have had conversations with a number of potential purchasers we haven’t been able to secure a formal sale when taking into account customer, people and commercial considerations.

“We have therefore decided to close the Care & Mobility stores immediately.”
