A council has set aside a funding package for residents in the Dudley area who are in need of home adaptations.
Dudley Home Improvement Service is offering an adaptations package to help with general access into homes, bathing and getting upstairs.
The council has set aside grants to pay for adaptations which could mean an influx of demand for local mobility firms providing or installing access aids.
Adaptations that come under the new funding plan include handrails, stair rails, ramps, level access showers, stairlifts, passenger lifts and home extensions to provide extra sleeping or bathing facilities.
Alan Lunt, strategic director of place at Dudley Council, told Dudley News: “Anyone who is finding it difficult to manage in their home, or has a member of their household who is struggling should ask for help from the adaptations service.
“Lots of support is on offer, along with grant funding to pay for home adaptations for many people. It’s all about keeping people safe and independent in their homes and making life more liveable.”
