Mobility dealership Beechfield Healthcare has been named as Sidhil’s national distributor for the Republic of Ireland.
In Jan 2017 Drive DeVilbiss acquired Sidhil Group Limited, which is one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of hospital and home healthcare beds.
As national distributor for Drive DeVilbiss products in Ireland, Beechfield Healthcare will be adding the full Sidhil range to its product portfolio.
Coupling the capabilities of both Sidhil and Drive DeVilbiss ensures that product choice and service options are set to grow with planned investment in R&D and UK manufacturing capabilities.
It is claimed that this acquisition now makes Drive Devilbiss one of the largest players in both the hospital and community care markets, and in turn Beechfield Healthcare now says it will have one of the largest product ranges available in Ireland.
Commenting on Beechfield Healthcare’s appointment, Drive DeVilbiss’ sales director Jeremy Taylor, said: “We are pleased to strengthen our relationship with Beechfield Healthcare, who continue to make great strides in the Irish marketplace. We look forward to seeing continued growth from Ireland”.
This new partnership presents significant market growth opportunities for Beechfield Healthcare and this will be underpinned with further investment in its people and systems, it says.
Beechfield Healthcare was officially incorporated in 1996 as the equipment division of Manor Care International, a nursing home group.
In 2008 the company was acquired by Trevor Flanagan in a management buy-out. Trevor had worked for Beechfield since 2002 as a product specialist, developing business across the country.
In 2011 Beechfield Healthcare acquired distribution rights for Excel wheelchairs from Van Os Medical. This partnership has flourished and Beechfield is now the largest provider of manual wheelchairs in the Republic of Ireland, servicing a number of HSE Contracts.
