Vehicle adaptation installer BAS NW Ltd is the new UK trade distributor for Italian supplier Handytech’s Going wheelchair, which uses Segway technology in its design.

The Italian designed all-terrain, all-weather wheelchair is designed to allow people with limited mobility to reach places considered inaccessible until now.

Cheshire-based BAS feels there is a need for the Going, which aims to provide a modern and stylish wheelchair that allows disabled people to live more independently.

Capitalising on the Segway trend, the Going wheelchair has self-balancing technology, allowing users to move backwards and forwards using torso movements to manoeuvre, as well as a multitude of other features. These include all-terrain tyres, night-time lights, stabiliser for added safety, digital power display, water repellent cushion and reclining orthopaedic back.

The Going combines advanced electronic technology solutions with the advanced mechanical engineering and the BAS team, led by managing director, Bill Bradley, were keen to become the sole UK supplier.

Bradley explained that BAS is proud to be part of the exclusive launch and supply of the Going Wheelchair with Segway Technology.

“It is an exciting new venture not only for our team, but for anyone who purchases one. Genuinely caring for our customers is what sets us apart, so to be able to offer a product that can bring so much freedom in a modern-designed way is so important to us, emphasising our motto – Life without boundaries.”
