The Dealer of the Year for Product Growth & Development award recognises mobility dealers that have worked on innovative ways of shifting stock for supplier partners and have proven their strategies are effective at realising the potential of products in the market.
We are delighted to announce that the 2018 shortlist includes the following dealers:
Middletons’ suppliers have seen the business transform over the last 12 months into a sharp tool acutely focused on a repeatable and scalable multisite retail model. Clear and concise packaging of all aspects of the business, including product training, stock, marketing and in-store merchandising has seen significant product growth. One of its key suppliers is confident Middletons will continue to see exponential growth throughout the remainder of the year. The manufacturer said the firm is an excellent example of how to operate a multi-site business producing consistent and increasing sales month on month.
Mills Mobility Aids
Opening its doors only last year, Mills Mobility had to immediately grow its client base and shift stock to get itself off the ground. It quickly developed care home clients by giving away low cost items like slings and other essential items which has opened many doors rather than the traditional approach of a rep trying to book appointments. The homes are a lot more receptive and this direct marketing approach does not incur large costs. The dealer has grown from strength to strength this year tripling its forecasted sales growth for the first year and establishing itself as a key provider in its area to both private and business clients.
Pro Rider Mobility
Aware that product offering is key to any strategy aimed at occupying a larger slice of the equipment market, Pro Rider introduced seven new own-brand mobility scooters into its range at Naidex. Its new products have been brought in to capitalise on the trend for affordability and flexible payment options and a part-exchange scheme have also been introduced to boost product growth. It reports an “encouraging uptake” on its new launch already and to support sales of the new scooters the firm has invested in new team members who are able to guide customers through each stage of the purchase.
Making the most of one of its best-selling product lines, Mobility Solutions has invested in a specialist show concept in its Glasgow superstore to realise the potential of footwear sales. It has since tripled the size of its footwear range. Offering an alternative to high street shoe stores and mobility retail outlets with a limited selection, the shop-in-shop has a diagnostics machine to help specify the correct footwear for customers. The dealer has shown strong initiative in identifying footwear as one of its most successful departments and investing in improving it even further.
Realising it had ‘hit the jackpot’ by introducing the innovative Gatsby mobility scooter to the UK market from Switzerland, Eden drove home on its initiative with a marketing campaign that saw the Model T-styled product sell like hot cakes. In a competitive retail market, differentiating is paramount and offering exclusive products is a sure-fire way of achieving a strong brand image. The Gatsby has spearheaded Eden’s product drive in the last year the potential of such a product has not been lost on it. Setting up a dedicated webpage for the product, Eden has looked to push sales beyond already impressive numbers.
The 2018 AMP Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday 7 October, the first evening of the Trade Days show, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
