Abacus Healthcare has received healthy numbers of specialist bath enquiries at Kidz-to-Adultz-South, according to the company.
Abacus is a manufacturer of powered baths that provide accessible bathing for disabled children and adults. Its height adjustable Gemini and Scorpio baths were demonstrated at Kidz South to a large number of healthcare professionals and families.
The Gemini has an integrated platform for easier changing and drying and the Scorpio encompasses a bather transfer seat for safer access. Alongside these two baths Abacus provided the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a cuddly toy ‘Trevor the Turtle’ and educational information regarding bath ownership.
Abacus believes that the provision of accurate information and advice is essential for OTs and parents so informed decisions can be made regarding suitable equipment provision. The Abacus ‘#BathingIsBetter’ campaign provides printed and online guides on the benefits of bathing vs. showering and advice regarding funding.
Malcolm Farmiloe, managing director of Abacus Healthcare, commented: “We are delighted to report that Kidz South was once again a positive show for us. We were able to explain to OTs and parents why choosing an Abacus bath is not simply about purchasing a quality product, it is buying into a complete package of support.
“Abacus works closely with professionals, parents and bathers throughout the whole journey from initial assessment through to bath specification, install and beyond. Backed up by our expertise and knowledge, we are able to assist all involved so Abacus bathing solutions deliver maximum care, comfort and safety. Our educational literature was once again popular at Kidz South as were cuddles with Trevor the Turtle. We look forward to fulfilling all the enquiries we received and achieving more enjoyable bathing for all.”
